Quick Mani-Fest

Everywhere I go, I am always late. Hence, I am always rushing. (I know, something I really need to work on.) But the one thing that usually bothers me that I wish I didn't forget to do are my nails. I always leave it last to do because I can't do anything else with wet nails. So what has been a savior to me when I have a week old mani and no time?  OPI Shatter nail polish.
Apply one coat of this bad boy to your nails and it forms a shatter effect. It dries almost immediately so even bringing it along with you on the go is feasible. Please note that it looks even more ahh-mazing when you apply a clear top coat after. I've "shattered" my nails in a cab heading downtown and they were dry before I even got to my destination!!! It looks great with any color nail polish and OPI has 6 shatter shades to choose from. With all the buzz around town, I wouldn't be surprised if they come out with more colors.
So ladies, don't be bummed about your undone nails, just bum rush to your closest  Duane Reade and grab a bottle!

Shape-Ups: Fashion Fave or Fail?

Popularly marketed with claims of "toning the tush",  this hideous invention is nothing more than thick-soled sneakers that are arched at the bottom rolling you from heel to toe. Sure it makes walking fun and easy. Generally, any walking is good exercise, and perhaps these funky foot pillows may inspire you to walk the extra mile. Want firmer butts?  Do your squats. Shape-ups. #FashionFail.

Summertime Sass on a Budget

Ahhh, the beginning of Summer where not only the temperature rises but so do our hemlines.
Being a huge fan of dresses, the summer season is the perfect excuse to be that much more flirty
and show a little more leg.  You don't always have to break the bank to find a fun summer dress.

This particular one I chose to wear today was practically a steal. I found this little number at a church flea market. The first thing that drew me in was not the dress itself, but the print. At first sight, it resembled a moo moo (not so cute). Once I picked it up to examine the fabric, I knew I could work with it. A chop of the hem and a cinch of a belt later and.....Voila!

Pair it with a cute pair of wedges and there you have it...a great outfit for less than $20.

So, the lesson for today, don't judge a dress by its cover, judge it for its potential.  Happy hunting ladies!

Dress $1.75,  "Elle" Libbie peeptoe wedges (Kohl's) $12.00  --very similar to Dolce Vita's "Pela" wedges
